Welcome to the Secret Life of Plants! Take a stroll along the creek and peek into the thoughts of the plants around you.
We begin our walk crossing San Jacinto

What a nice little nook! But let’s let the plants talk. They’re getting a bit loud and impatient....

            Bald Cypress
Now, where was I…oh yes, I was standing here…or was it over there? Hah! Doesn’t matter, I’ve been around for centuries anyway. Did I tell you about the time the creek…oh, never mind.

            Elbow Plant
Cypress…are you telling that story again? Focus. Don’t worry, some of us are actually evergreen and reliable here.

            Coleus
Oh look, make way for the star of the show (me, it’s me).

I mean...you have to agree. Aren’t I just the most stunning thing you’ve ever-

            Garden Nasturtium
Ugh...Coleus never shuts up about herself. And she’s everywhere too! So glad I got my own quiet little planter all to myself.

            Wisteria
Psst! Enough time over there...come over here and admire my flowers! (They don’t come easy, but I grew them just for you :)).

            Red Yucca
They’re all sooo loud. Once you’re here all year like me, you learn to be more quiet.

            Crape-Myrtle
And here I am, still in bloom as the season winds down. Summer’s not over yet—take it all in, because I’m the last stop on this little creekside adventure!

Thanks for joining this little plant walk! Funny how listening to each plants' own quirks, moods, and ways of fitting into the world makes us notice them more. Maybe that’s the real secret: the more we listen, the more we can appreciate the life around us. Until next time ;)
